There is a problem with the computer start button, as I press the button, the light turns on, but the computer does not turn on
Hi @imranali , Try a power refresh and check if this resolves the problem in case it is a corrupted BIOS that is preventing a normal start. i). Switch off and disconnect the power from the computer. ii). Open the computer and locate and remove the coin cell battery that is on the motherboard. Remember its orientation, note which is the +ve side (marked on battery) before removal. Here’s the hardware reference guide for the computer model. Go to p.41 - 43, to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove/replace the battery. Note: that there are 3 different methods for how the battery could be mounted. Also take heed regarding the date and time reset that is required after having do all this see info on bottom of p.43 When the battery is out, check its voltage. if it is less than 2.5V DC replace it. These batteries are non rechargeable and last about 5-6 years. The battery type number is stamped on the battery itself. Mostly they’re a CR2032 which is commonly available everywhere, e.g. supermarkets iii). Press and hold the Power On button on the computer for a full 30 seconds and then release it. iv). Reinsert the coin cell battery onto the motherboard (remember the orientation of the battery when inserting) v). Reassemble the computer and connect the power to the computer and switch on and check if it starts etc.
