Chosen Solution
Samsung TV has a flashing bar down the left side of the screen. It comes and goes but does not disappear once the tv has been on a while.
Looks like a loose connection to the screen to me. There are a few or a lot of ribbon cables glued to the edge of the screen behind the bezel. Sometimes they can be repaired by a competent shop.
