Just out of nowhere, today my laptop just won’t turn on? It was functioning last night. This laptop does not have a removable battery that you can just instantly remove so I don’t know and want to risk it. Also when plugging the charger in, the little LED light doesn’t switch on? Any ideas? I’ve also had it for about 6 months Asus TP500L
Hi. i have the same model and it just happen to me a couple of days ago. i have read that you need to unscrew the case and unplugged the battery (no need to unscrew the battery, just unplugged the connector) and press the power button for about 30 second(to remove the current residue on the board), and then plugged the battery and screw the case back. now when you plug your charger, the indicator light will turn on again and you can turn on the laptop again. It works for me. Since TP500L have a built in battery, this procedure involving unscrewing your laptop. This might avoid your warranty. so please reconsider this because i will not guarantee this method will fix it. because there might be different reason for this problem (charger problem, board problem, etc.) . But i have found other asus users who have the same problems and many solve it using this method. it has something to do with polyfuse or something. src: http://superuser.com/questions/822538/as… http://www.tomsguide.com/answers/id-2452…
I have a simular problem with my Asus X551M but the led lights turns on the moment I conect the charger. I’ve opened the laptop, removed the battery connected the the charger but it didn’t work so I insert the battery again tried booting up but it doesn’t want to the led lights on the board flashes and if i long press the power button they die…They don’t shine ulsess the laptop is plugged in. The charger works fine and I bought the laptop a 3 months ago and now it won’t even power on. Can some one please help me??
I’m going to keep it simple and sweet, it may have to do with the power supply. If you have a way in testing that do so, otherwise the battery may be shot.
