My 1995 subaru outback has a blown head gasket. Otherwise car is in reasonable condition. I don’t have the quoted $2000 to get a mechanic to replace the engine. Has anyone tried it themselves? I am self taught but willing to give it a try
Working on a watercooled boxer subaru engine is pretty difficult unless it is removed entirely from the vehicle. Not saying you can’t do the job, just be sure to look into it pretty closely before you attempt the job.
