As mentioned in the description everything is in perfect working order but the picture just seems to very very dim or dark. I have taken off the backplate and can see the lights shining through the back so it is being backlit. when I have ceiling lights on in my room you can barely see it. with the lights off it is a little bit more visible. and i am able to navigate the menu. I have turned off the eco sensor, reset, contacted Samsung for help and they need to send a service tech out. Is it worth repairing or just buying a new tv? Any guesses to what it could be Samsung 65in flat tv model: UN65JU670DFXZA
Hi @cgctennis , It is either a backlight array or LED problem, a power board problem or perhaps even a mainboard problem. Try the following: Turn off the TV (if on) and then disconnect the TV power cord from the wall outlet. Disconnect the cable between the mainboard and the power board in the TV. Reconnect the TV power cable to the wall outlet and turn on the TV. The TV backlights should come on full brightness and stay on. There will be no picture because the mainboard has been disconnected. If the backlights come on full brightness then most probably it is a mainboard problem. If the backlights are still dim then it is a power board or backlight array problem. You would need to start by measuring the voltage supply at the LED connector on the power board and then further into the circuit, one direction or the other - LEDs or power board or use a backlight tester examples only to further diagnose where the problem actually is. There are videos on YouTube that show how to use the tester although they may also come with instructions. Always worth repairing but might depend on what you’re prepared to spend and your views on e-waste Find the board numbers for the power board and the mainboard and then search online using the board numbers (or you could search for UN65JU670DFXZA mainboard and UN65JU670DFXZA power board) but the board numbers will give an exact replacement if there are different versions being used. Also search for UN65JU670DFXZA LED strips as well. Once you know the prices and what the problem may be you are in a better position to judge. Here is just one supplier who gets mentions on this website. There are others that may suit you better. Hopefully a start
