the dropdown tailgate latch loose and will not allow the tailgate to open. Where can I find a schematic showing what might needs fixing?

jimco465594 , There are quite a few linkages with plastic retainers(as seen in pic. below) to keep the locked into the levers and handle sometimes these break or the rods/cables can pop out and need replaced or locked bask in position. Also lubricate all linkages/locks/catches/mechnisms liberally and work it into latches etc. as some time these can seize up and leave the handle feeling loose.
