The computer does not switch on and fan starts turning non-stop. No lights on screen and only fan turns. Any idea what can be? In a computer repair shop (apparently very bad) just only told me that motherboard (logic board) is kaput. Is it really only the motherboard?

To me it sounds like the battery or the logic board

The ramped up fan tells me SMC encountered a severe problem with one of its sensors! Basically, SMC pumps up the fans RPM’s to make sure you don’t cook your system. So you clearly have some sort of logic board issue. It could be the board or a sensor input that’s causing an issue. As for anything else… Given the age of the system the battery if its the original is way too old! So, consider the costs, you might be able to find another 13” MacBook Pro system which is working for less than buying the two needed parts.
