Hi All. I am helping a friend who has a Samsung LED tv. We have a weird issue that is causing a double image, in the bottom 2/3rds of the screen. I had it open yesterday and reseated all the cables. Edit: The model number is: UE50ES5500
Update (01/16/2020) Hi oldturkey03. Thanks for your response, and it sounds logical (not like I know much lol). I assume you mean this board:
How can I diagnose it to be certain? Also is it worth fixing? Thanks again.
@crazeuk double images are usually caused by a t-con board issue. however, this is mostly for the whole screen not just part of it. You do want to check the LCD driver board. That is the board that connects to the LCD panel via small ribbon cables. It is possible that you are having Gate Driver fail. If any one of the gate drivers fails, all of the subsequent drivers below it will fail to operate properly. This symptom is usually indicated by normal video on the upper portion of the screen followed by distorted video from the point of the failed IC and downward.
i understand but…is there any solution?
