Chosen Solution
I cleaned off all the old adhesive with isopropyl alcohol before installing my iFixit replacement battery, but 3 weeks later all the adhesive strips had detached and I could feel the battery was loose inside my MacBook Pro. I opened the computer and confirmed it. I pressed them all back down and reattached the back cover. What could cause the adhesive strips to fail? Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Maybe the new adhesive strips are failing. Consider using double sided tape over existing adhesive or removing them and using new double sided tape?
Hi wboweng10, Personally i haven’t had this issue before however did you check that the new strips were from a reputable source. If they are reputable then did you take the appropriate measures to ensure the adhesive cured properly. Hope you can get this fixed, Nick P
