I got a client’s phone today that is not vibrating. It was previously jailbroken, and had the issue a few months after that. Now after damage, no signs of drops, I’m the “first one” in it. (found some finger prints in the speaker) I’m not sure if it has a bad lightning assembly, taptic engine or something else. I don’t have spare parts to test at the moment. Any idea how to test it outside of circuit? Or any pin outs for it? Ideally I’ll have another iPhone 6sp come in to try this one in that phone, but I’m not holding my breath. Thanks
Try to get a dc power supply and take out the Taptic Engine then slowly increase the voltage to it to see if it moves. Or get a multimeter and measure the voltage across the pins on the lightning connector and make it vibrate and see if any voltage comes up.
ideally you should get some test parts as trying to test it could be the hard part and still not lead anywhere
I have this problem with my 5S, he must of installed some Taptic tweak. If you press the bower button and volume up and down buttons at the same time you should feel a vibrate. Sadly updating the phone doesn’t fix it, and neither is restoring the phone from a back up. The Fix. You will have to reset the entire phone and not restore it from a back up. (Back up info just in case)
