Hey there! Looks like the display has some damage, wether from the spill or not. If everything else still works, then you can simply replace the display instead of getting a new tablet. Hopefully that is the only issue. Best of luck!
I do not have an answer but I have a similar situation. My screen was broken so I installed a new screen and screen protector, but when I turned my tablet on, it was not responsive to my touch. It also gave me a message about the battery being in an abnoral state, so I opened it back up and found that the speakers may have been misaligned, so I re-installed the speakers in the back panel and reassembled the tablet, but then, the screen went to the opening page but I could not unlock it because the screen was unresponsive. I did get my weather program to come up without unlocking the tablet. I don’t know where to turn from here.
The touch screen looks to be damaged in some way, as Alexandre said you’d better replace the screen cause resetting the tablet won’t help at all since the problem is not a software issue, and you won’t lose anything stored on the tablet so take it to a repair-shop or to the manufacture if you still under warranty and see what they can do about it.
