Chosen Solution Hi guys, I’m working on the above macbook which has a small water spill. After an SMC reset, the macbook does turn on. I cannot Get past login screen (if I click guest account or main account, it just stays loading forever)Get past USB installer loading bar. It also gets stuck on the apple logo with the bar when trying to boot from an installer. I took out the logic board, took pictures of the damage, cleaned off the corrosion, and still nothing....

Chosen Solution I recently replaced the LCD on my Z3 play, and it was working great for about a month. Now I have a vertical line in the center of the screen. The line goes away if you slightly press down on the bottom right corner, or if you slightly lift the LCD. Any ideas what is causing this and how to permanently fix? There are two possibilities: The screen is warped, (Manufacture defect) Would explain why when you press down on parts of it the lines go away....

Chosen Solution Water gushing out front door while starting to wash Update (08/17/2022) https://guide-images.cdn.ifixit.com/igi/… TRY GOD check the rubber boot that sits in the front opening. check it for any tears and make sure that it is mounted properly. Download the manual from here and check around page 30. A torn or dislodged boot could cause “Water gushing out front door” If unsure of anything, post some good picture of the front opening and the boot etc....

Chosen Solution Just finished a battery replacement and now my screen has a weird thumb-sized polarization effect. Touch still works in the affected area. It is definitely the screen, it‘s not present in a screen cap and is a trip in real life. Actually it’s pretty annoying, but still usable. Looks a lot like the diffuser layers are messed up. Did you use anything such as alcohol to remove the display?...

Chosen Solution I have come across 3 different Apple Mac display cable connectors from unrelated sources ( an imac and 2 x macbook airs) this week which have a ‘0’ or ‘O’ or a circle drawn on them with a marker. Just wondering what this would normally denote? is it some kind of Apple technician code or something. I am unable to test the displays to see if they work so cannot work out if it means they do or don’t work or something else....

Chosen Solution I have installed a new optical drive and keyboard. I have also upgraded to a 1 terabyte SSD. I have been trying for a couple days to upgrade the operating system. Unfortunately it will not operate with OS X 10.14 Mojave. What is the latest OS I can use on this machine? Also where can I acquire it? I am now running Snow Leopard i know 2010 you can go with 10....

Chosen Solution It fell from my hands to the floor as the screen was facing downwards. Then its screen went complete black. But it still accepts finger touches. Like I can unlock my phone (it has a slide lock), answer a call etc. Because I approximately know where to touch and slide to perform those operations. Also, there’s a little cracked scratch line on the screen, and the whole screen looks like it’s kind of wet when I put it under light....

Chosen Solution This is the socket. I want to install a m2.ssd its a Asus zenbook ux510uw. I’ve been reading and came to the conclusion that I can only put an m.2 SATA ssd (which is fine) however when I opened the laptop I saw that the port has only 1 hole like the one on the left in the picture, and the ssd I wanted to buy has 2 holes like the one on the right....

Chosen Solution When I put movies in the DVD tray it tries to open up on “interactual Player” and will not play. But many programs on here that were uploaded by the person before me seem to not work for this laptop. Does any one know what program the DVDs should be playing on so I can upload it? You will need to: remove the rear wheel from the bike by loosening the axel nuts and the coaster brakethen remove the axel from the wheel, there should be a retainer clip that can be removes from a groove in the axel, once removed, the axel should slide out....

Chosen Solution I need to pull out my logic board to check for damage after a spill, but I’m noticing a distinct lack of guides for this machine. Is it so similar to previous models that it doesn’t need its own guide? I looked at the previous few years and I’m not seeing any logic board replacements for those either. Is this something that’s forthcoming, or does ifixit just not do this sort of thing anymore?...

Chosen Solution Hello, I own a Apple iPad 1st Generation 64GB 3G/GPS or A1337 of which when I plug in and attempt to turn on boot-loops. When I attempt to put it into DFU mode and plug it into a PC or Mac it will either immediately turn off (the iPad only boot-loops when plugged in) or if I used a adapter that allowed it to be plugged into power and the Mac or PC at the same time, it would not show up on iTunes....

Chosen Solution My tablet turns off on its own while still charged. Sometimes it will not turn on unless I plug it in and battery is well charged. Also while working the tablet screen goes black and then comes on???? I have open my tab back cover with the help of knife then I put a small paper under the battery then its work I used my usb connector as long as it’s connected to the tab it doesn’t turn off by it self

Chosen Solution The red tablet has a cracked screen that is chipping and now does not work. The orange tablet has a gray and black screen but out glass is fine not cracked. The purple Tablet does not move from the start up screen and when you turn it off to restart it does not turn on. Who can I send it to get it repaired. The tablet screen is must up and the colder is not right....

Chosen Solution Hey all! My macbook pro 15 retina, mid 2012 suffered from the infamous staingate and since I was out of the free repair period I tried cleaning it myself. I used the mentioned w5 lidl wipes & a bit of listerine after. While most of the coating is gone I am now left with parts of my screen that look like smudges. The smudges reflect in light a brown/copper color....
