Chosen Solution The computer has experienced a terrible fall, and the display is broken. So I removed the display and HDD and tried to plug in the power cord. The first test led on the motherboard is ON. Then I tried to switch it on but with no luck. No other test leds blinking, no fan. I wonder what is the better way to resolve the further problem isolation. Should it be able to start without builtin display when the external display is using?...

Chosen Solution I like knowing the names of everything just to be well informed, what are the names for the 3 ribbon cables that connect to the LCD. The 2 that connect back to the logicboard and then the one that the home button connects to. One for the display, one for the home button/Touch ID, and one for the front-facing camera/proximity sensor/ambient light sensor. Hopefully that helps.

I don’t know the exact size. For minimal cost why not just buy a selection of small screws - it doesn’t have to be Torx as Philips is fine. Yes this can be replaced, however it is a pain in the arse as you have to take every screw out. However once you do this, there are screws under the top panel where the power, lift away buttons are. I couldn’t actually get to this off as I think it’s glued on....
